Hello babes! Hope your week is just fabulous! This week we’re chatting about creating a makeup space within your home! The BB team was recently asked to contribute to a blog post by Redfin Real Estate regarding this subject and we thought it was too good not to share! Plus we’re sharing a few more tips of our own, but make sure to click the link at the bottom of our blog to see what other makeup artists suggested! There are some great ideas in there!
When it comes to designing a space to create glam, you’re going to want a comfortable chair and a vanity, desk, or table with some drawers for storage. If you’re tight on space, a desktop with multiple drawers can certainly be dual purposed! Next you’re going to need a small vanity mirror, preferably one that has magnifying capabilities on one side. If you have ample natural light within your space- the vanity mirror does not necessarily need to be lighted. Make sure you decorate your space uniquely for you-it should inspire you and your creativity!
Lighting is key when creating a space for glamming. Your best bet is to choose a room with ample natural light and you’ll want to face your makeup table toward that light. If you don’t have much natural light in your space, you can opt for a makeup light- make sure it’s a soft natural white light, or as close to natural light as possible.
You’ll want your space to be clutter free and organized so that you know where everything is and your time spent glamming is minimized. Amazon has some great makeup storage containers and they’re pretty cheap too! Another great way to organize is by using mason jars for things such as dirty vs clean brushes; q tips, cotton pads, and other disposable items. Don’t forget to include a small trash can in your space to throw your disposables away.
