Hello beauties! I hope your week is going great thus far! I am over here hitting all the bridal milestones, and of course I have to spill the tea on all of it. This past weekend I ventured to Austin, where myself and 4 others celebrated my bachelorette party! The theme of the bachelorette was “FinalFlamingle”, because I love flamingos! It was a blast, and I think my cheeks still hurt from laughing so much. 

First, let me introduce you to my bridal gang! All of them I have known for 10+ years. 

Heather is the mom of the group, with 3 littles of her own at home. She’s the outspoken one and will tell you what’s up, when there’s something she doesn’t like.  Don’t let her fierceness fool you, on the inside she’s soft as mush and cries at everything, even commercials. Love ya Heather P! 

Tee is my soul sister. We have a friendship that can’t be matched. She’s been through my entire Orlando life with me, so she knows ALL the secrets. We can just look at each other across the room and know what the other is saying. This friendship runs on laughter and the million inside jokes we’ve accumulated over the years.

Next is Taylor. She’s my carefree, silly friend that’s always just down for whatever. She’s got no filter; but also the biggest heart. Taylor and I can’t be trusted alone together, because chances are we are going to get lost, or end up in the most random places or situations. In a nutshell, we need to be managed. 

Then there is Matt. We called him Dad the entire trip, because well, he is one, but also he’s a great caretaker, even though he doesn’t want to admit it. Matt likes to instigate things and see whose feathers he can ruffle, but it’s always all in good fun. Matt is always down for food, so he is my foodie friend and whenever we’re together we make sure to hit the best spots. 

Now that you have the rundown on the crew, I’ll fill you in on what we did while in Austin. We arrived Friday afternoon, after getting the house decorated and fully stocked, we hit the pool at our Airbnb, while we waited on our photographer to arrive. I HIGHLY recommend hiring a professional photographer for any part of your bachelorette party. After our amazing photo session with Lauren, we suited up and headed out to dinner at Peche, and a couple bars close by.

The next day was river floating day. We all donned pink bathing suits to keep with the theme of my last “flamingle”. We packed up a cooler of drinks, snacks, and sandwiches and floated the Guadalupe river. Thank goodness for Dad on this day! The river was low so we kept getting stuck on rocks, but Matt came to the rescue every time! After the river we picked up a taco bar from Matt’s El Rancho, and headed back to the house to dance, swim and laugh our way well into the next morning. 

On Sunday, our final full day began at drag queen brunch. Where we watched the amazing queens put on a SHOW, honey. These babes had the fiercest makeup; the highest kicks; and the most amazing jump splits!! After the show, we stopped at a few other places, but the Texas heat started to get to us, and we headed back to the house for more pool time and some BBQ, because you can’t go to Texas and not have BBQ! Monday morning we woke up and cleaned the house. Matt started his drive back to New Orleans, while the gals went to breakfast at Josephine House, which was voted our favorite meal of the entire trip! Seriously, it was amazing! After breakfast, we headed to the airport to go our separate ways. 

I had the best time with this squad. We laughed, we danced, we did all the things I wanted to do. They really made a gal feel loved! I cannot wait to reunite in just 7 short months in New Orleans to celebrate the big day. Mostly because I will need all that time to recover from the bachelorette ;P
