Hello my babes! This week I am taking the time to share some pertinent information with you! A few things I will be discussing, are not only super helpful pieces of information for you, but for us as artists as well. These tips help our job run smoothly, but only when you, the client, follow them! So babe, help me help you, and let’s work together to create an amazing experience for both of us! Afterall, teamwork makes the dreamwork.
COMMUNICATION IS KEY
BUZZ BUZZ! It’s BB, please pick up your phone!!! When we reach out to you via email, text , or phone call it is usually because we need to obtain some important information from you. So please answer in a timely manner. This will help us to continue creating the best client experience possible. I understand, we’re all busy with work, life, and everything else under the sun, but take the time to answer your vendors. All too often I literally have to harass people for information, and that is no fun for anyone. You, the client, are getting blown up by me and I have to continue taking time away from other clients because I can’t get ahold of you. So please, just communicate with us! Communication is the key for a successful appointment and experience!
BE ON TIME
If I ask nicely, will you PLEASE do this? As a client, you definitely expect your artist to be a professional and arrive on time, so why wouldn’t you hold yourself to the same standard, Sis?! You are not our ONLY client and we have others behind you as well, so when you arrive late you not only put us behind on your services, but everyone else after you as well. Please be courteous to your fellow babes, wanting to get glammed!
LISTEN TO OUR PROFESSIONAL ADVICE
All too often I have client’s who question pieces of advice I have offered regarding makeup application, timeline, or other important aspects. I understand this is your first time getting married, and you want everything to be perfect! (I want that for you too!) As a client, you have hired professional wedding vendors to help execute your full vision. These pros have executed HUNDREDS to THOUSANDS of weddings and they know exactly what to expect on wedding days. The best thing you can do is listen to what they have to say– it’s what you’re paying them for!
READ YOUR CONTRACTS
Now I cannot force you to do anything, I really can’t, but honestly if you do not read your contracts and understand what you are signing, then that’s on you, babe! (I say that in the nicest way possible). All too often, I have clients who breach a contract, and are shocked when an additional fee is added to the final bill. I hate nickel and diming people, I really do, but there are rules and contracted stipulations put into place for a reason. As a business owner, I have to enforce these processes for all clients, not just some, so don’t feel personally attacked when this happens! It’s nothing personal, sis.
TIP YOUR ARTIST
I know, I know you already feel like you’ve paid “enough” for the hair and makeup services you were provided. However, please know that all of that money does not go directly to your artist. The hiring company also gets a percentage. Then there is product cost to account for. We have to continuously keep up with the expensive makeup and hair products in our kit. (These kits are worth thousands of dollars). Please also consider these factors are built into the price we charge for the services: artists time, level of expertise, and artistry knowledge. So if you feel your artist did the damn thing, and you LOVED your lewk, then show your artist some LOVE back.
TRAVEL FEES
It honestly shocks me when people are surprised that we charge to travel to them. Have you seen the prices of gas lately?! We have no problem driving all over the world, wherever you need us- we will be there! But please understand a fee comes with that option. Also, take into consideration that your hotel will most likely charge a parking fee, which needs to be covered for us as well. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk. ;P
These tips are really meant to help you, not hinder you! Following this advice will create the best overall experience for you and your artist. So take notes, babe, and we’ll see you in the makeup chair!
Love,
