When hiring a makeup artist or hairstylist for your special event, you’re usually just thinking about the fact that you need beauty services executed. That is what they will be taking care of for you, right?! You are correct, that is definitely what we will be taking care of! However, there is so much more to it than that!

When it comes to the wedding day, we are usually the first vendors that arrive onsite, which means we are the first professionals you interact with while beginning your special day. As the day begins to unfold, while you and your bridal party are getting glammed up, it can become a little hectic. People are coming and going; they’re asking questions; and sometimes the bridal party is still working hard to put finishing touches on wedding day details! It can all become a bit overwhelming.

That’s where we come in! Not only are we taking the time to help glam you up, but we take the time to ensure your needs are met. This can be shown in very small ways, such as simply requesting a bridesmaid to pour the bride a new glass of champagne. One of the biggest jobs I have had to help with is keeping the bride calm. This happens more often than not, because why wouldn’t it? Getting married is a huge step! You’ve invited all your family and friends to celebrate your day, you’ve planned for months and months, and now little things keep going wrong! Not to mention in a few hours, you’ll have 150+ people staring at you while you say some of the most important words of your life! That’s not nerve-wracking whatsoever! In lieu of everything, we, as artists, are here to help!

Whenever it is the bride’s turn to sit in my chair, I always ask her how she is feeling, that way I can gauge her stress level. Sometimes, she is on cloud 9 and nothing can shake that! GO OFF, SIS! Then, other times, my bridal client’s seem very nervous or highly stressed. That is when I take the time to chat with them, very quietly, because the last thing we need is everyone bombarding her making it worse! One of my biggest tips, especially to a bride that is worrying about every little detail, is that at the end of the day, you are still marrying the person of your dreams, and no one but you will know that this detail wasn’t “perfect”. Usually this little snippet of advice really helps, but sometimes I have to dig a little deeper and that’s ok too! I simply want my bridal babes to leave the bridal suite feeling beautiful, confident, and joyful. If I can help achieve that, then I did my job to the best of my ability!
