Hello my gorgeous babes! This week we are talking about prepping your skin for your wedding day. For my bride’s who have naturally amazing skin, simply sticking to a curated skincare routine is all you’ll need in order to prepare for your special day. Once you find the routine that works best for your personal beauty needs, stick to it! It will only enhance that wedding day glow! Although, some people require a little extra effort, and that’s ok too! 

Some of you may have “problematic” skin, such as dry or acne prone skin, that you’d like to combat so that your wedding day makeup application is flawless. I am all for finding a skin care routine that will help enhance your natural beauty. However, skincare is not a one size fits all thing. I would  highly suggest visiting a skin care professional, such as an aesthetician(good news: BB has several on staff) or a dermatologist. These professionals can make recommendations about products that will be best for your skin type and remedies needed to achieve that natural glow. These professionals will take the time to offer the best practices and procedures they feel will enhance your skin’s overall appearance. I would recommend visiting them at least one year in advance from your wedding date. This will ensure you have plenty of time to begin a skincare routine and stick to it. Since you may have to try multiple products in order to find what works best for you, beginning your efforts sooner than later can only help! 

Now, let’s fast forward to the week of the wedding. I always recommend that my bride’s stick to a routine and products that they know and are comfortable with. Do not try something new the week of your wedding!! Allergic reactions, acne breakouts, or other unwanted blemishes could occur, and after you’ve spent a year perfecting your skin and glow, that’s the last thing you want to do! On the wedding day, I prefer my brides to simply cleanse and moisturize their skin, since I will also be applying skin care products that work well with the makeup products I use in my kit. Of course, many of my products used are hypoallergenic but I always ask my clients if they have any allergies to certain ingredients to be safe.
