Hello beauties, I hope you are all doing amazing! This week is for the bride’s! WOOP WOOP! Where you at, ladies?! You’re going to want to keep reading, because I am sharing my expert tips with you on why you should get a blowout the day before your wedding!
First, let me explain what a blowout is and what type of blowout you should receive before a wedding. A blowout is performed post shampoo, and it is the art of drying the hair into a desired style. For your wedding day, you should receive a basic blowout NOT a keratin treatment or brazilian blowout. These are chemical services that straighten the hair and reduce frizz- but it is very difficult to add any texture or curls with a hot tool once you receive these services. Now that you know what type of blowout you should have done, let me fill you in on what NOT to do!
It is all too often that I show up to create some lovely wedding day hairstyles, only to notice that the entire bridal party washed their hair the night before (YAAAAY!) but then slept with their hair in a knotted messy bun(BOOOOO)! Ladies, trust me when I say THIS is not what you want to do. Leaving your hair in a wet messy bun overnight creates problems for your hairstylist. Not only will this cause frizz, but also kinks or dents in the hair that we do not want. If you do this regularly, this can also lead to dandruff or bacterial/fungal infections as well(EEK!). Then there is the other half of the bridal party, who went a little too far with “day old dirty hair” and didn’t wash their hair for DAYS. They request a gorgeous hairstyle on a head that is as slick as an oil field, sorry not happening, sis. So let’s talk about what you SHOULD do!
The night before the event is the preferred time to perform these services, but if you are in a pinch they could be performed the morning of. However, there are 2 downfalls to waiting until morning of. Curls do not hold as well in freshly cleaned hair. Also, performing all blowouts would double your hair service timeline as it takes about 30 minutes per blowout then 30-40 minutes per hairstyle. I highly suggest that all members of the bridal party receive a blowout not JUST the bride and here’s why:
After your blowout, follow these easy steps to keep your hair looking amazing for your wedding day hairstyle!
That’s it! Receiving this service requires no efforts on your part. Simply schedule your blowout at a blow dry bar or with your wedding hairstylist. Sit back, relax, and let them do all the heavy lifting! 😉
