This week’s wedding is giving me ALL the classic couture vibes, and I am here for it all, you should be too babe! Let’s just say Katherine and Steven’s wedding day at Casa Feliz in Winter Park, FL, was one of those perfect romantic weddings. Just wait until you see, but before we show you ALL the photos from the day, let’s take it from the top! 

Katherine reached out to me well in advance before her wedding day, 10 months to be exact, which I LOVE. Doing this gives us plenty of time to go through the planning process and not be rushed! Katherine was planning her wedding from out of state, so we had to make sure we scheduled her trial for a time when she would be visiting Florida. We had one date chosen, but a freak accident put that on the back burner and we had to come up with another plan!

Katherine knew she would not be back in town until the week of the wedding, so we decided to perform her trial earlier in the week! She arrived at Salon Catalyst, which is where I perform bridal trials, with some inspo and ideas set in her head. She was going to opt for a super clean low bun, and she also wanted to try something new and fun that made her eyes pop! 

We started with the makeup, where we created a natural glam with a soft pink shimmery eye. For hair, we opted for a clean sleek low bun. However, Katherine has a TON of super thick hair and she wanted a very small bun, which was just NOT attainable for the amount of hair she had. After we completed the hair and makeup, Katherine and I had a little chat. We decided that trying something new was not the way to go, and we were going to opt for Katherine’s classic look but elevated. This meant more of a neutral eye and her hair down and curled. 

Fun Fact: BRIDAL BABES!!! Just because your trial doesn’t go as planned do not freak out. Ok yes, if the hair and makeup is just absolutely horrible- you can freak out a little. But if you just don’t like some of the tones used, or the lashes are too big, or the foundation was slightly heavy or moved – these are all super simple fixes! Honestly, THIS is what a trial is for!

I was actually more worried after the trial than Katherine. It was the week of her wedding, and we just had a trial that was a complete BOMB, and not in a good way. I wanted to cry because honestly I do not like letting my clients down. However, Katherine was so sweet and kind and she wasn’t worried in the slightest! She understood that we took some risks trying new things, and when those things didn’t work out, she rolled with it. She knew that I understood exactly how she wanted to look on wedding day, after our post trial chat, and she entrusted me to execute it! 

On wedding day I showed up at 8:30am to glam Katherine, her cousin, and her mother for a total of 6 services. I started the morning by setting Katherine’s hair into a “roller set” to help with the longevity of her hair. Then I moved to her cousin’s hair and then her mom! By this time it was 10am and I made the switch over to makeup! I then performed makeup services for all 3 ladies, provided touch ups and finished right on time at 2pm! 

Katherine and her crew left the hotel and headed over to the venue, Casa Feliz, where the rest of the evening would be spent with their closest friends and family, celebrating the couple’s love for one another. We love an intimate wedding at BB!
